Many older people simply do not use computers at all.  They don’t have an e-mail address and they have never been online.  Hard to believe but this is true for many more people than the rest of us realize.

My senior citizen parents are typical.  They have a Netflix account but they don’t use the “net” part  to pick out their movies.  They use me.  Every week or two I get a fax with a list of movies to order from the Netflix site.  My folks like the convenience, price and service offered by a web based company but they don’t care to use the technology necessary to enjoy the benefits.  I am their internet proxy for Netflix and anything else they want to do online.

If you are reading this and you have parents like mine, who don’t use the internet, you might want to consider offering to act as their proxy to prepare their wills and just as importantly, powers of attorney, living wills and other healthcare surrogate designations with our online law firm.
